APRIL 2026 CALENDAR

The April calendar has been posted. We encourage you to notice and appreciate the richness of the meaningful liturgy of the pre-1955 liturgical celebrations, its clarity and encompassing way of presenting –through the hands of the priest– our prayers to the Lord, in unity with all the traditional intentions and orations the Holy Mother Church instructs us to recall in all Masses of the month. The pre-Bugnini liturgy is, without doubt, the best and most coherent way of defending our traditional Catholic faith in the present time.

This month, dedicated to Christ our Redeemer, begins with the somber and solemn days of Holy Week with Spy Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Holy Saturday, in preparation for the glorious and triumphant Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ on April 5. It is during Holy Week and Eastertide where the pre-1955 liturgy is notably different from subsequent revisions.

One significant difference of the pre-1955 calendar is the celebration of the Solemnity of St. Joseph, Spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary and Patron of the Universal Church.  This is a moveable feast with common octave, celebrated on the Wednesday following the 2nd Sunday after Easter (April 22 this year).  Honoring St. Joseph under this title was discontinued in 1955 and replaced with a new feast day on the fixed date of May 1, under the title of St. Joseph the Worker.

In April our attention is also directed to the Blessed Virgin Mary, where the Church honors her under the title of Our Lady of Good Counsel (April 26).  And for those who have made the consecration to Our Lady according to the True Devotion formula of St. Louis-Marie de Montfort, a plenary indulgence is granted for the recitation of the consecration prayer on his feast day, April 28.
