This Novena, which lasts 25 days, begins on November 30, the feast of St. Andrew, and ends on Christmas Eve, so it covers most, if not all, of the Advent season. The novena prayer is prayed 15 times a day, not necessarily all at once, and is a pious supplication to God for the fulfillment of a longed-for request. It is an excellent Advent practice in anticipation of the Greatest Gift of all, born to us on Christmas Day.
Hail, and blessed be the hour and moment in which the Son of God was born of the most pure Virgin Mary, at midnight, in Bethlehem, in piercing cold.
In that hour, vouchsafe, O my God! to hear my prayer and grant my desires, through the merits of Our Savior Jesus Christ, and of His Blessed Mother. Amen.
After completing the fifteenth repetition, the following prayer concludes:
Let us pray:
O Lord Jesus Christ, who took pleasure in humbling Thyself in Thy incarnate divinity and in Thy most sacred humanity, even to the point of being born in time and becoming a child, we beseech Thee: <mention your intentions here>. Amen.
Grant, Lord, that, adoring Thy humiliations on earth, we may come to contemplate Thy glories in heaven, Thou Who with the Father and the Holy Ghost livest and reignest for ever and ever. Amen.
